Stitcher | Flosstuber | Pattern Designer
Hi friends! I am Laura, I’m passionate about many things, including tea, tarsiers, and cross stitch honoring multiple cultures. I’m mixed race, so I grew up at the intersection of different cultures and identities–I strive to represent the intermingling of cultures authentically and respectfully. I am mixed Shimanchu, the Indigenous people of Okinawa; since there weren’t any cross stitch patterns that represent my culture, I started modifying patterns I bought from other designers. Just recently I started designing my own! Check out my Instagram to follow my latest stitching projects in all their brightly colored sparkly glory. Under the name Tarsier Stitches, I have a flosstube where I talk a lot about how to respectfully stitch other cultures, especially Indigenous ones, and I design the occasional pattern that you can find on my shop on Ko-fi.
